How CRUfADclinic Works

Prescribe the appropriate course and tell your patient that you expect them to benefit within two months. Most do, especially if you show continuing interest. Some seem to need little extra help to benefit from the course, most do better with weekly reminders to keep going, and some who have more complex disorders really do need clinical guidance and additional consultations if they are to benefit. It is as simple as that.

Prescriptions - pads or electronic

CRUfADclinic is operated using special prescriptions. You need to register to purchase either a prescription pad ($100 for 20 prescriptions) or single electronic prescriptions ($20 each) to use CRUfADclinic. Patients are given one prescription per course. The CRUfADclinic internet courses cost comparably little, and patients find them convenient to do, especially as they can be done from home and in the evening.

Benefit

IN OUR RANDOMISED CONTROL TRIALS ABOUT 80% of people who enrol in the CRUfADclinic programs for depression, social phobia, panic disorder and generalised anxiety disorder that we run complete their courses of six lessons, which is far better than adherence to most face to face therapies or better than adherence to medication. In randomised controlled trials we have shown that these four courses produce improvements that are comparable to or better than the best face to face treatment.

How You Use CRUfADclinic?

1. Identify the course that you want the patient to complete
2. Tick the box next to the course and circle the prescription password
3. Give the prescription to the patient and recoup the costs
4. Direct the patient to www.crufadclinic.org and tell them to use the prescription password to access the course you have recommended
5. You will receive emails about your patient's progress
6. You remain clinically responsible for your patient

How Patients Use CRUfADclinic?

1. Your patients log onto www.crufadclinic.org
2. They enter their email address and their prescription password and click the 'Login' button
3. They select the course you recommended, enter their details and click the 'Submit' button
4. The patients will then see details of the lessons in the course, consisting of an illustrated recovery story coupled with homework
5. Reminders will be sent to patients if they do not continue with the lessons
6. The patients will complete measures of distress at each lesson
7. You will receive emails about your patient's progress
